What is a 'shopping ban'?!?!
Onward...Bangkok...
So here I am...typing this blog post a few thousand miles up above the air:-) I have indeed left London and on my way to Bangkok for a short 3 day stopover. I seriously need a good massage after all the travelling I have done today. From 6.30am, my friend drove me 1.5 hours to Gatwick Airport and then forth a 1 hour ride from Gatwick Airport to Heathrow. My gosh. I have not even started the actual flying, which takes another 10.5 hours. Okay, I allocated quite a bit of time to be at the airport since I do not know what the traffic situation is. My friend James also need to get to the office, so it was the best arrangement. I did not regret it, since it gives me ample time to get my UK VAT refund (It's infuriating! I have to tell you guys all about it! So much admission charge!) and also to indulge in some last minute duty free shopping. I was surprised that Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 had good luxury brand shops that offers amazing selections of goods. Nevertheless, I took the opportunity to check around. Last minute temptations. Oh my. I thought I have ended my shopping adventures when I left London city. Instead the shop after shop of some of my favourite brands keep luring me towards them. Shops like Paul Smith, Mulberry, Dior, Gucci, Hermès, Bally all stock really good selections. I esapecially like the fact that all the prices listed are without VAT. They all look so 'cheap' all of sudden. A pair of Paul Smith canvas shoe costs just 50 pounds. But I am on a shoe ban. So nope to that. A Paul Smith Luggage tag for 16 pounds. Hmmm..tempting. But finally I settled for something that I have been eyeing in the Mulberry shops in London. And with no hassle for VAT refunds or mental sums to determine how much I have saved, I gladly use the leftover pounds I have to make my last shopping conquest! So here you go...something useful from Mulberry! Hurray.
All sightseeing done, all the money spend, all the energy expended...finally it is time to make a tally of what shopping conquests I have made so far. Here you go...
My 'heaps' of shopping bags! I thought I was on a ban from shopping. And I failed miserably. The shopping in London is amazing! Prices are also cheaper substantially than in Singapore. I had to.
Reveals to gradually come...YSL was my biggest purchase:-P
Shut eye time. It's 9 hours and counting to touch down.
(Okay...I only managed to post this after I got online at my Bangkok hotel:-)..so not exactly posting up in the air)
