Marc Jacobs Spring 2011:New York Fashion Week

A second after Marc Jacobs' Spring 2011 showing ended last night amid a flurry of frizzy-haired and voluminously-clad models circa 1970's, the Twitter universe was abuzz with a million one liners referencing MJ and the popular disco era such as 'That '70's show, A touch of the Rive Gauche, Paging Jodie Foster in 'Taxi Driver'...
The beauty of the collection was very much a burned golden-hued visionary ode to Yves Saint Laurent, Missoni, even Sonia Rykiel, with gorgeous frizzy manes (look at all those redheads!!!) topping off flowy and gauzy drop-waisted dresses, massive flower corsages, plumed neck wear, and delicate patterned knits. I don't love the entire collection, though, I'm still actually making up my mind about that. The colorful satin interlude in the lineup was my least favorite, but the colors overall reminded me of a warm Arizona dessert...and that's always a good thing. Some of my favorite looks:

Missoni Multi Coloured Knitted 'Zig Zag' Patterned Scarf

Matches Fashion stocks some of the most drool worthy collections to buy. So when they offered free shipping last week to anywhere in the world, I knew I had to take advantage of this offer:-)

What caught my eye this time are the gorgeous multi coloured Missoni knitted scarves for sale online.

I had recently blog about Missoni's woven suede leather belt. While researching for pictures for the post, I fell in love with the looks of the models wearing the colourful knitted scarves from Missoni's Spring Summer 2009 collection. Being hailed as king of knits, Missoni does supremely beautiful and intricate knits. The patterns and colours are gorgeous!

Matches Fashion offers a good selection of Missoni scarves from the women's section. There were too many pretty colours and I had a tough time picking just one. The prices was also attractive, especially sans the shipping costs and UK VAT, making these light weight knitted scarves an even better buy! Finally after much deliberation, I settled on this scarf with a zig zag pattern in coral, pink and black. This will not only be great on summer wear, but it can transcend into night as a glamourous evening scarf on blazers or jackets. The black colour helps in achieving this.

With that in mind, I placed my order last Sunday...and surprise:-P... I got the parcel today! Nicely wrapped in luxurious Matches Fashion packaging, the scarf is of a generous length, super lightweight and gorgeous as expected:-) Looking forward to buying from them again!
