Prada Spring Summer 2009 Ad Campaign
Love love this series of ads from Prada. There is movement, interaction and high commercial value in the imagery which gives the models and clothes an aesthetic appeal that is exceptionally captivating. The multiple models posing in different ways in a row is a dynamic and gorgeous treatment. Shows the flow of clothes as does the poses of the models. Quite an 'eyeful' to see:-) Even the colour treatment which is a bit muted is beautiful.
I am a fan and have even used it for my maskhead for the last few weeks.:-) Can't wait to see the men's version.
The campaign is shot by Steven Meisel features Nimue Smit, Giedre Dukauskaite, Sigrid Agren, Toni Garrn, Katrin Thormann, Viktoriya Sosonkina and Ymre Stiekema
And I like the fact that they use other models instead of the usual, somewhat over-exposed Natasha Poly and Lily Donaldson. It's more refreshing to see new faces.
Update: Brieuc75 has kindly pointed out to me the menswear ads for Prada's Spring Summer 2009 season on his blog. Thanks Brieuc! Apparently, they are shot by mega hot designer, Hedi Slimane with an uncanny talent for capturing black and white images. Love it. I always find his images imbued with a sense of melancholy and stillness. I want to see more! (Hope he makes a comeback to fashion soon!)
