Photography: The Last Forty Percent Photography
Photographer's Snippet: He was the older man. Just a friend. Just a good friend and nothing more. Or so she thought. They crossed paths at parties, dated mutual friends and even joined in on similar group outings. But he was just a friend. A good friend and nothing more.
Always spending time together around other people, Matilda and Tony never really had the chance to spend time together one on one. On the night of her cousin’s wedding, they found themselves away from the group and deep in conversation. For hours. And hours. It was like the clock had melted away and time had stopped just for the two of them. It felt like only minutes had disappeared, not hours and before they knew it the night was over.
Tony knew that there was something special between them and sent flowers and cards and even worked up the courage to call Matilda. But as bad timing would have it, she was leaving the country for a few months and it seemed like things just weren’t going to line up properly for them to be together. Love can’t be forgotten, though, and Matilda couldn’t stop thinking about her ‘just friend‘ back home and realized that this title no longer worked for the way she felt about her long time friend. When she returned back to Canada, she called him right away and they started a new journey in their relationship together, creating new titles for each other.
Sometimes you can’t see the forest for the trees and what you’ve been looking for has been right in front of you all along. He was the older man. Always a good friend. But now her best friend, her soul mate and the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with. He had been there all along…
Matilda and Tony, we loved being a part of your special day. Everything was beautiful (including your one-of-a-kind dress) and we had so much fun walking right out into oncoming traffic to get these photos (everyone stops for a woman in wedding gown!)
